Challenge

How do you create a brand that feel scientifically established and looks beautiful at the same time? The task was to craft a brand and website that will elevate the company image at a glance before they went public in the ASX. The brand has to logically be understandable by the target audience and shareholders who are mostly engineers and scientists.

This challenge intrigues me as and it could be the only chance that the Chemistry and Geography subjects I took in high school are finally useful in my career. Also, it's the best way for a creative person to contribute in saving the environment!

Execution

I created a logo that depicts the earth and its core on an axis and at the same time, the yin and yang. It shows the before and after the positive change that Calix makes to heal the earth one innovation at a time. Based on the logo, an iconic circle device is used in a multitude of ways to house imagery.

I also introduced a dotted pattern with one displaced row of an otherwise perfectly aligned small circles. They represent elements that makes up molecules in waste products. Calix solution works by introducing one element to displace another in industrial waste  and convert it into a harmless by product.

Another important part of this branding is the use of macro images that is derived from the three states of matter, liquid, gaseous and solid to represent the myriad of Calix innovations.

Working together with the strategist and digital producer, I've created Calix website which help them shift from selling products to selling bespoke solutions by heroing the case studies and categorising them according to the industries.
